The Work Of Their Hands

These are our 3 years old Play Care children. We are so proud of their development. From running around and not able to sit down more than 15 minutes, they are now able to pay attention to their work and do it well. Good job kids =)

Sensory Play Fun

Our kids were having so much fun with this sensory play activity!

So long we do not mind to be messy, the children will be able to get loads of fun and new experiences!

Sometimes it is really about willingness =)

We know that young children are oriented toward sensory experiences. From birth, children have learned about the world by touching, tasting, smelling, seeing, and hearing. Sensory play also contributes in crucial ways to brain development. It is like the food for the brain. Stimulating the senses sends signals to children’s brains that help to strengthen neural pathways important for all types of learning. For example, as children explore sensory materials, they develop their sense of touch, which lays the foundation for learning other skills, such as identifying objects by touch, and using fine-motor muscles.

Do not rob your child's play time with a tablet or a TV. Every simple sensory play leads your child to a new experience and a new development.

Sensory play is also a great time you can spend with your child, building a bond or a relationship with each other.

It is worth a try =)

It counts!

No matter what activities you do with your child, it counts!

Besides writing, coloring and reading, there are more activities you can do with your child at home. For example, play dough, sensory play, creative play, water play or simply just play! Just use anything at home and start playing! It can be a pot, a spoon, sofa, table, basket or socks!

It is essential that children are learning through play.

Let's make learning fun for them. Anyway, they do not know what is boring until we introduce to them. Haha...

This is what we do in Ikid House. We play, we care, we love!

Let's do the same at home. It is really not a bad idea being busy playing sometimes! =)

Rolling Fun!

The research says that every new move has to be repeated over and over to strengthen neutral circuits that wind from the brain's thinking areas into the motor cortex and out to nerves connected to muscles.

You can develop your child's motor skills by rolling a ball  to her and encouraging her to roll it back.

After all that needs to be done, you may pour out all balls and let them have fun together just like my kids!

Spending Time Together

"Spending time with children is more important than spending money on children."
Anthony Douglas Williams - Inside the Divine Pattern

I truly agree with this statement. Do things together with your children is the best time you can spend with them.

There are older kids that come to Ikid House every Saturday for day care. We do things together; from cooking, taking care of younger kids, washing dishes to setting up some basic things together. These experiences have created a sense of ownership in them.

We love our kids and we do not want them to become someone that wants to be served all the time, instead, to become someone that serves others, particularly their own family members. It is definitely a great way when we can show them "how" by doing things together with them.

Fun with Play Dough at Home

Wow! School Opening! It is really not that easy especially with toddlers! Crying, running about and shouting all over! Hahaha... It is fun though to experience this every beginning of the year.

One of the activities that will keep them occupied is play dough. It is an all time favourite for kids.

Do you know that you can also make your own play dough and store it in the fridge? It is easy to make and economical. You don't need to worry much when the kids put the dough in their mouth because it is safe to eat, just that it is really way too salty!

The basic ingredients needed are:

2 cups flour
2 cups warm water
1 cup salt
2 tbs vegetable oil
Food coloring

You may go to the link below or simply type "How to make playdough" in YouTube.

Our children really have lots of fun with the different color play dough we have made for them. Hope your child will enjoy it at home too =)
